Beyond the Smile

There was a child, who loved too much,
Who filled all rooms with laugh and touch,
She spoke her heart out, so free,
Those people told her that's not to be.
Though trust issues bothered,
She tried to take them as just another.
Finally, she shrunk, spoke in signs,
All because of the lies.
When people left,
She remained quiet, so called self-respect.
Yet she pours her heart and care
hoping someone is there.
