१.

I.
I hold no complaint against you, beloved,
for you were never truly mine.
How could I ever love another after you?
You were the flower in my garden
that never even bloomed.
II.
What a grave mistake I made —
I handed the key of my heart to a thief.
People ask why I never loved someone else.
I tell them: the one I was meant to love
is the one I lost.
III.
People say what is not written in fate
is rarely ever attained.
But for you,
I was ready to fight destiny itself.
IV.
In your sorrow, I drink little by little —
otherwise my principles were once so firm
that I had never even looked toward alcohol.
The intoxication in your eyes alone
was always enough.
