Host Body

the blood and the stings keep me trapped behind my ribs
i fight for control and start to forget my name
i can feel it practising my signature
it dances through my cells and tilts my organs
like it's trying to stay upright on a shifting floor
until my skin forgets it's outside
and my tears leak back in.
