On a fine, clear-skied night,
A naive little girl sat quiet
Under the moonshine, admiring the stars.
Tears rolled down her chubby cheeks.
"And the day love finds me for real,
I hope it's the soft, gentle, and quiet kind—
One that feels natural, divinely spiritual."
That night, I witnessed a soft, naive, and vulnerable heart
Overwhelmingly tremble and tear apart.
Her gaze was fixed somewhere high up
As she confided it all to the moon and stars,
As though she were an overflowing cup
Of endless internal quarrels and wars
Her mind—so restless,
Yet, in the night sky, she found comfort to her distress.
The stars' sparkle and shine,
Just like a cheerful friend,
Made their company feel divine;
Endless comfort they would send,
Along with a reason to smile.
She made peace with the person
She had been running from all this while—
With her very own self,
She now felt one.
Watching the stars shine with all their might
Inspired her to shine along and make it all right.
For deep within, she knew all that broke her heart
Would soon be overshadowed by a mysterious new start.
Even today, after every rough day,
Under the moonshine is where she'd stay.
For that's where she reunited with herself,
And that's where her heart found its home.
