The White Lights of After Dawn

The Fading Light

My life is coarse

like sand in a dune,

and like the waves

of the Dead Sea

I'm always floating.

Questions of worth

and some of merit.

They ask for money,

jewelry, fame,

but never for soul.

And I keep fading

because this is tiring to me.

But I never die,

so why am I still dying?

Pledge to Your Smile

I'd be the Orpheus

who didn't look back.

I'd be the burning Icarus

if you'd be my Sun.

The monster growling at night,

to his dearest lost love

whom he might find in death.

May he be me in another life.

Because all of mine

is no mere blasphemy.

I'd give you my heart, my soul,

and all in me.

Come, indulge me in your laugh,

love, and my fantasy.

Let me see your blood,

and be one with it.

And may I ever look back—

my dear Eurydice,

let me die a loving man.

I Hope You Like Coffee

My dear, it's early morning,

may I always see your eyes.

And your brightest smiles

that I adore.

And I hope you like coffee

so we can enjoy together

the dark light before morning,

and the white lights of after dawn.

The Day After Tomorrow

Every face and its wrinkles,

every story of love

forged in blood.

The parents of lovers

and themselves.

All a mythology of someday,

all the philosophy or ever

and never.

So let the sculpted faces

be of some future person,

not from the past ones.

Let the revolution be pink,

and murder green.

Let the fun be black,

and love in vain.
