Poetry

I know one thing, You'll never stay

you are the morning bright,
but look at me —
I am the unilluminated night,
I know we will never be together,
but the evening will surely come,
the one which will witness you leaving
and my arrival
the one when our paths will cross,
in those few lovely moments,
I will see you,
and you will see me.
at that prepossessing painful moment,
I will understand,
or maybe I have to know,
that we may not stay together,
and maybe I will have to watch you leave slowly
in that alluring evening,
you will be the morning,
always in rush,
maybe the morning that has nothing to do
with that evening,
but I am sure,
I'll be the night born from evening,
I'll stay with the light you'll provide me to shine,
in that same evening,
I would reach for the warmth of your light,
I know the evening will not last forever,
your light will slowly fade,
and even though you'll come with morning,
I know one thing,
you'll never stay,
and I know we will never be together,
anyway.
