Will You Weep, If I Die?

I opened my heavy eyelids and paused to look at my hands.
A dizzy, drunken sensation flooded through my body
the feeling of a chick that had just hatched,
the feeling of a heart that had just cried.
I feel relieved, and i do not know why.

Certain sobs and weeping echo,
yet I cannot name their voices.
A softer weeping drifts from the distance,
-impossible to ignore.
is it you, or is it not?

My nerves have gone numb and my tendons heavy,
yet my mind wants to seek the gentle sob.
Alas, I feel tired, so I shall rest now.
I will sleep with this weight in my chest,
hoping to rise again with the dawn.
