You don't smile when you see me anymore
And I don't run to hug you anymore
We don't hold hands
Down our good old road
But maybe the road remembers our rants
And all the secrets we told
Maybe the big tree still waits
For us to wander again
And kiss under the rain
The road still hopes
To see you hold me
And never let go
The little bee
wants to see us wild and free
I love you so
I might never walk down that road again.
To me the road is now pink pain.
Maybe the old lady across the street
Still walks by those cars-
Where we talked for hours.
You and I might forget
But they'll always remember,
All that we said.
And that road shall always hold
the harsh and the tender,
All of us.
Just as you held me close,
And promised to never let go.
