Longing
Original ·

Sochaan vich teriyan khoyaan main,
Ishq tere vich rurhiya main.
Teriyan yaadan bhulda jaana,
Tu kitte koi bhulekha te nai si?
Koi saadiyan baatan sunda nahi,
Aa tere ton ilava kise hor de naal baat paayi hi nahi.
Saade varge moh nu vekhi kitte bhula na jaayi.
Asaan taan teriyan udeekan vich hi reh gaye,
Maithon chaavan maan nahi honiyan,
Teriyan yaadan saambh nahi honiyan.
Koi raat aisi jaandi nahi,
Jis supne vich tu nahi.
Tu akhaan moore aaunda nahi,
Mere supneyan vichon jaanda nahi.
Teriyan haasiyan nu chete karke,
Main mattha mattha hass painda haan.
Usi vele dil vichon cheez nikaldi ae,
Ki haan, main tainu har saah naal yaad karda haan.

Lost within thoughts of you,
I drifted away in your love.
I keep trying to forget your memories,
Yet were you ever merely an illusion?
No one listens to our conversations anymore,
For besides you, I never truly spoke to anyone else.
Do not let a love like ours be forgotten.
I remained waiting only for you,
Who knows if someone else plucked the flowers from my garden.
What is a heart? It may attach itself elsewhere again.
But what will you do, beloved,
With these eyes from which tears fall like pearls?
I can no longer cherish desires,
Nor can I keep carrying your memories.
There is not a single night
In whose dreams you do not appear.
You never return before my eyes,
Yet you never leave my dreams.
Remembering your laughter,
I find myself smiling softly.
And in that very moment, something rises from the heart:
That yes, I remember you with every breath I take.
